KiwiCare

KiwiCare is a shared cover health insurance plan. Shared cover means you and Southern Cross each pay some of the costs for healthcare services you receive. This plan covers up to 80% of costs for eligible medical and healthcare services, including cancer and surgical treatment, specialist consultations, diagnostic imaging, tests and some recovery and support services.

The policyholder will pay the remaining balance towards any treatment claimed for.

This plan does not have day-to-day cover. If you’d like cover for day-to-day healthcare too, RegularCare could be an option for you.

Option to reduce your insurance premium with an excess

Adding an excess is one way you can reduce your premiums. The excess only applies to surgical procedures, chemotherapy (including Cancer Cover Plus) and radiotherapy. You don't need to pay the excess when claiming on other benefits of the policy
